How to Preserve a Face and Identity in AI Photo Editing

Use a suitable reference

Choose a sharp, well-lit image where the face is large enough to inspect. Heavy blur, occlusion, extreme compression, and very small faces provide less reliable identity information.

Write an explicit preservation clause

Name facial structure, age, skin tone, expression, hairstyle, pose, clothing, crop, and camera angle when they matter. Then request one controlled background, lighting, or colour change.

• Do not ask for a new face or a different person
• Avoid stacking wardrobe, pose, makeup, location, and lens changes
• Return to the original source for each new branch

Review responsibly

Inspect eyes, teeth, ears, hairline, hands, jewellery, and distinguishing features at full size. Only edit people with permission and do not use the result for deceptive impersonation or misleading evidence.
